INK first appeared on the ESG ranking by Expert magazine

The ranking is based on the Expert-400 rating with INK listed 101st in revenue in 2021. Other ranked companies include LUKOIL, Gazprom, SUEK, Sberbank, SIBUR, etc. Alongside the companies’ size, the ranking takes into consideration their sustainable development statements (non-financial statements) publicly available on the companies’ official websites.

The independent ESG ranking has been provided by Expert since 2020 using public sources. Companies are appraised in four areas – social policy and HR, environment, development of the region of presence, and support to the regional economy.

Each indicator is scored, with the total calculated on the basis of all the components. The maximum ranking is awarded for social policy and environmental efforts.  

INK has been consistently showing a high level of compliance with ESG standards. To take oneexample, INK Group allocated more than 1.2 bln RUB for environment conservation activities in the two reporting years (2020-2021), increasing the spending in 2021 almost three times over the previous year.

Social investments totaled around 330 mln RUB in 2021. In September 2022, at the sixth BaikalRisk Forum the company signed a pentalateral ESG agreement with local government bodies and the Baikalsky Bank of PJSC Sberbank aimed at development of Ust-Kut town and the Ust-Kut district.

Irkutsk Oil Company (INK) is one of major private producers of raw hydrocarbons in Russia.The company incorporated in 2000 engages in geological study, exploration and development of 53 subsoil blocks in the Irkutsk Region, Krasnoyarsk Region and Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).INK’s largest investment project is the gas chemistry cluster developed in Ust-Kut town. It consists of gas production, treatment, transportation and processing facilities, a helium plant, and the Irkutsk Polymer Plant. INK Group counts over 13.5 thousand employees.
