The INK Group pays special attention to the climate agenda and understands the need to build an efficient system of climate management.
The Group’s Climate Strategy and the Decarbonization Strategy are developed in alignment with the national goals of Russia and the principles of the TCFD and CDP. They are aimed at ensuring the Group’s continuity of operations, mitigation of risks associated with the potential consequences of climate change, and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
The INK Group is fully aware of the need to reduce its carbon footprint and is making efforts to diversify its business.
The strategic goal is to develop new areas of production for gas processing, associated petroleum gas and associated water extraction.
Irkutsk Oil Company seeks to minimize emissions of greenhouse gases and harmful substances, and implements tools and mechanisms to monitor, track and reduce them. We understand and share the responsibility of future generations and are therefore taking steps to reduce the carbon footprint of our operations.
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is one of the priorities associated with global climate change. The implementation of a project for re-injection of associated petroleum gas into the reservoir is among the Company’s biggest achievements in this area.
Possible measures to reduce GHG emissions
The Company systematically implements measures to increase the percentage of productive use of associated petroleum gas (APG) to minimize greenhouse gas emissions. According to the adopted production programme, the INK Group is building boiler rooms, compressor stations and other facilities that will utilize APG. Part of the Group’s equipment is already running on natural gas or APG.
