Health, Safety, and the Environment

One of INK Group’s key priorities is to effectively manage risks in the area of occupational health, industrial, and environmental safety in its operational activities.


INK Group implements the Health, Safety and Environment Policy (HSE). Its main principles include:

  • preventing environmental pollution, and injury and illness to employees and/or the general public

  • minimizing the negative impact of the Group’s operations and activity to the environment

  • reducing operational risks

  • rationally using natural resources and introducing modern waste management technologies

  • improving the Group’s integrated management system in compliance with the requirements of international standards ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018

  • ensuring that activities of the Group’s contractors also comply with requirements of its HSE Policy

  • improving skills, knowledge, and responsibility of Irkutsk Oil Company’s employees in HSE issues

  • having a direct contact and communication with stakeholders by conducting public discussions to assess the environmental impact of proposed activities and by publishing information in the media and on the Company’s website;

  • providing social support to the local population and indigenous peoples of the North who live in areas of INK Group’s operations.

One of INK Group’s recent priorities in this respect has been the implementation and certification of an integrated management system that combines an environmental management system (EMS) and an occupational health and safety management system (OHSAS), according to international standards ISO 14001 and ISO 45001:2018.

The integrated management system applies to the following legal entities:

• OOO “Irkutsk Oil Company”

Business area: exploration, drilling, facilities construction and development of oil and gas fields, production, processing and transportation of oil, gas and gas condensate.

• AO “INK-Zapad”, OOO “INK-NefteGazGeologiya”, OOO “ToT”, OOO “Sakhaneft”, AO “INK-Krasnoyarsk”, OOO “Paiga”

Business area: exploration, drilling, facilities construction and development of oil and gas fields, production and transportation of oil, gas and gas condensate.

• OOO “INK-SERVICE”

Business area: oil and gas well drilling.

• OOO “INK-TKRS”

Business area: current repairs and workover, testing and development of oil and gas wells.

• OOO “INK-StroyNefteGaz”

Business area: construction of site and linear facilities, well pad facilities construction, and engineering infrastructure.

Since 2013 INK Group has implemented and effectively maintained the integrated management system that combines an environmental management system (EMS) and an occupational health and safety management system (OHSAS). In August 2019, INK Group’s integrated management system successfully passed a third-party audit by the world’s leader in certification of industrial enterprises — DQS Holding GmbH.

Based on the audit results, INK Group not only confirmed the validity of its EMS certificate of compliance with requirements of the international standard ISO 14001:2015, but also was one of the first organizations in Russia to receive an OHSAS certificate of compliance with requirements of the new international standard ISO 45001:2018.

Since its foundation, INK Group has been paying particular attention to environmental protection, ensuring occupational health and the safety of its employees, introducing leading-edge management technologies and tools that are used in the world’s best companies of the industry. The annual confirmation of its international certification status is a guarantee that INK Group moves in the right direction and ensures HSE management according to state-of-the-art global standards.
