On July 23 in Ust-Kut, a new medical facility, funded by the Irkutsk Oil Company, is set to open
The 60-bed medical facility is designed to house patients with COVID-19. For the construction of the medical building, Irkutsk Oil Company contributed more than 500 million rubles to the project.
The commissioning and mandatory testing of all the medical equipment is now complete and the new facility is ready to start assisting patients. The new medical building was handed over to the Ust-Kut Regional Hospital by representatives of contractors.
Financing for the project was discussed between Igor Kobzev, the Governor of the Irkutsk Region, and the Irkutsk Oil Company’s management team in the summer of 2020.
The new addition to the hospital is 3,000 sq. m. All the hospital wards are designed to accommodate one or two patients and are equipped with a shower and toilet. In addition, each ward provides a bed connected to an oxygen supply, generated by an in-hospital oxygen station . Also, the medical facility is equipped with three resuscitation wards, including six intensive care beds.
The facility features a modern ventilation and disinfection system, as well as an advanced communications system. Ambulance vehicles can also be disinfected on the hospital site.
Supplied with the lastest resources in the medical industry, the modern high-tech medical facility can be repurposed in the future to treat other diseases.
In the future, the Irkutsk Oil Company intends to assist in the development of primary and specialist medical care in the Ust-Kut region. Irkutsk Oil Company also participated in the development of the design and authorizing documentation required to conduct major repairs to the main hospital building. Furthermore, the company is providing assistance and support to the regional healthcare system as they battle with the hardships of the pandemic. In order to support regional hospitals in Irkutsk and Ust-Kut, Irkutsk Oil Company has supplied over 100 oxygen concentrators, funded the purchase of very much needed ventilators, bronchoscopes, recirculators, and other types of medical resources. In addition, Irkutsk Oil Company has also funded the procurement of personal protection equipment, such as masks, respirators, protective suits, and overshoes.
