Irkutsk Oil Company is in the top 10 of the World Wildlife Fund’s Environmental Transparency Rating
The project is organized with support from the European Union. Online presentation of the results took place on November 30, 2021. The rating includes 22 Russian oil and gas companies, as well as 14 companies from Kazakhstan and 2 from Azerbaijan. In 2021, the global sustainability agenda has intensified rapidly, including in Russia.
According to the WWF press service (нужна ссылка), the experts of the rating presented not only the final analysis but also studied the dynamics over the 8 years of its existence. Analysis of the final scores of companies in Russia and Kazakhstan revealed two stable clusters — “transparent” and “non-transparent”.
The “transparent” cluster includes companies in the top half of the rating, which actively disclose environmentally significant information to the required extent. Virtually no migration from “non-transparent” to “transparent” cluster occurs.
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is one of the largest independent international conservation organizations, with nearly 5 million regular supporters and present in more than 100 countries.
