Irkutsk Oil Company (IOC) held a Career Festival as part of Youth Day in Irkutsk. More than 8,000 people attended the festive event.

The festival kicked off the annual corporate competition "Best in Profession," which IOC has been holding since 2011 to identify highly qualified specialists. This year, company employees are competing in 52 categories. Three of them were presented at the festival venue: line pipe fitter, firefighter, and industrial safety specialist. The remaining 49 categories will be held at the company's production facilities in July and August.

"Today, blue-collar professions are the foundation of any organization that ensures stable operation. The festival is an excellent opportunity to promote these professions and introduce the younger generation to the prospects of working in the oil and gas industry. At IOC, we are focusing on young people by implementing various programs for schoolchildren, students, and young professionals," emphasized Ruslan Salikhov, IOC's Managing Director of Production and Chief Engineer.

IOC also organized a program for guests of the event. Visitors could take part in master classes at the cyber arena, try out VR simulators, play board games, or visit the children's area. Participants could also enjoy a photo zone with a crew bus and watch a 3D movie.

In total, more than 20 interactive zones were open as part of the Youth Day celebrations. The venues hosted lectures, master classes, meetings with volunteers, environmental campaigns, interactive activities, fairs, and career consultations. Youth Day ended with a festive concert featuring creative groups and performers.

The IOC Career Festival in Irkutsk is being held in its new format for the second time. In 2024, more than 1,000 people attended the company's event.
