Irkutsk Oil Company (INK) has planted more than three million trees on forest lands in 2024.

The planting area amounted to 1.5 thousand hectares in the territories where the Company operates - in the Irkutsk Region, Krasnoyarsk Region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

As part of its compensatory reforestation obligations, INK annually plants more than three million young trees on forest lands. In five years, the company has planted over 9.2 million seedlings on 4,600 hectares.

Seedlings of the common pine, a basic coniferous species that is adapted to the local climate, resistant to diseases and fast growing, are used for reforestation. The rooting rate of the plants is 95-100%.

According to amendments to the Russian Forest Code, from 2025, companies are required to perform agronomic maintenance work on forest crops within three years of planting. This year, INK will carry out a set of works aimed at creating favorable conditions for successful rooting and rapid growth of seedlings on the territory of 1.2 thousand hectares.
