Irkutsk Oil Company (IOC) and Marina Sedykh Charity Fund were among the winners of the annual "Best ESG Projects in Russia" program. The results of the event were announced on June 25 in Moscow as part of Russia's largest ESG forum, "Three Pillars of the National Agenda."

The forum's expert community noted the best practices of sustainable development in Russian business, emphasizing the importance of a responsible approach to management and development. The winners presented projects aimed at reducing their environmental footprint, increasing social responsibility, and implementing transparent corporate standards.

IOC was among the winners and was recognized in the category "Partnership for Sustainable Development – Preservation of the Culture, Language, and Traditional Activities of Indigenous Peoples." The company presented the project "Program for the Preservation of the Traditional Way of Life of Indigenous Peoples."

Adopted in 2022, the program promotes the preservation of the traditional way of life, crafts, culture, and languages of indigenous peoples. The project helps to use modern environmentally friendly technologies in geological exploration, design, and operation of production facilities in areas of traditional nature use. The program also systematizes charitable assistance for the implementation of projects in the field of education, healthcare, and culture of the indigenous peoples of the North.

The project "Health Protection and Prevention for Socially Vulnerable Groups in Remote Northern Territories of the Irkutsk Region" by Marina Sedykh Charity Fund was recognized in the category "Good Health and Well-being. Medical and Social Support for Vulnerable Groups of the Population." In addition, the foundation's programs "Stop COVID!", "Rehabilitation of BAM Veterans," "Rehabilitation of WWII Veterans, Home Front Workers, Child Prisoners of Concentration Camps, and Children of War," which provide residents of the northern parts of the Irkutsk Region with access to qualified medical care and recuperation treatment.

The Best ESG Projects in Russia award is given to companies that apply best practices in environmental, social, and corporate governance. It is a continuation of the Best Social Projects in Russia program, which has been running since 2012. This year, 678 applications were received from candidates implementing initiatives in the field of sustainable development. The projects that demonstrated the highest standards were recognized by the organizers. Sixty-one companies received diplomas and awards.

Irkutsk Oil Company (IOC) is one of the independent producers of hydrocarbons in Eastern Siberia. Founded in 2000, the company conducts geological studies, exploration, and development of subsoil areas in the Irkutsk Region, Krasnoyarsk Region, and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
