Environmental campaigns to collect waste paper and plastic will begin on April 1 in the Mirninsky District of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), with the support of Sakhaneft LLC.

The company has been a partner of the event for three years. The campaign “Save waste paper – save trees” is being conducted by School No. 1 in Mirny in conjunction with the Mirninsky District Committee for Nature Conservation. The collection will take place in schools in the district and at the collection point in Mirny at 5 Soldatova Street until April 20. Students and residents of the district are invited to participate.

After the collection, Sakhaneft will arrange the removal of recyclable materials from the area to Ust-Kut for further processing. In addition, the company covers the costs of recycling waste paper.

In Mirny, plastic will be collected in daycare centers as part of the Good Caps campaign. The collected materials will also be sent for recycling at the company's expense. Sakhaneft is also conducting a campaign called Plastic for Action to collect and recycle PET containers in Ust-Kut in partnership with entrepreneurs and environmental activists.

It should be noted that the company pays particular attention to environmental issues in the territories where it operates. Last year, the project “Reintroduction of the forest bison in Central Yakutia” was launched with its support. In the Mirninsky District, Sakhaneft annually organizes the release of fry into the Vilyui Reservoir. The company also supports a number of environmental and socially significant initiatives in Yakutia.
