In Ust-Kut, with the support of the Irkutsk Oil Company (IOC) and the Marina Sedykh Charity Fund, a rehabilitation program for veterans has been launched to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII).

The project covers war veterans, widows of World War II participants, home front workers, children of war, and former concentration camp prisoners. The program was initiated by Sergey Anisimov, mayor of the Ust-Kutsky District.

The first 40 people have already started a two-week health program at the Ust-Kut health resort. Accommodation, balanced meals, and a variety of medical procedures tailored to their age and health condition are provided for them.

– We see how our guests enjoy the opportunity to improve their health and relax. They enjoy oxygen cocktails, visit salt caves, take mud baths, and work out in gyms. A cultural program has also been prepared for them, where they can socialize and make new friends, noted Oksana Zakryshka, representative of the Ust-Kut health resort.

Medical support is an important part of rehabilitation. A mobile team of doctors from the Irkutsk Regional Clinical Hospital, including a vascular surgeon, orthopedic traumatologist, ophthalmologist, ultrasound specialist, and cardiologist, arrived at the health resort especially for veterans. IOC and the Marina Sedykh Charity Fund covered the costs of accommodation and treatment for veterans, as well as the doctors' fees. The rehabilitation program will continue until the end of the year.

– Despite their age, many veterans remain cheerful and actively participate in the treatment process, monitoring their health. This is truly admirable, said Olga Kozhevnikova, a cardiologist at the Irkutsk Regional Clinical Hospital.

IOC and the Marina Sedykh Foundation support veterans each year. The company's volunteers regularly deliver food packages and flowers to veterans, children of war, and home front workers in Ust-Kut, the Ust-Kutsky District, and Irkutsk. The company and the foundation also support veterans' organizations. Festive concerts and a field kitchen are organized for residents of the gerontology center in Markovo. In 2024, the Marina Sedykh Charity Fund also implemented a rehabilitation program for more than 1,000 Baikal-Amur Railway veterans.
