Irkutsk Polymer Plant hired 422 employees in 2021
Currently, the management of Irkutsk Polymer Plant is actively seeking process engineers (for chemical technology), mechanical engineers (for construction and rotatation equipment), power engineers, and civil engineers (industrial production). In addition to engineering professions, workers such as boiler operators, apparatus operators, mechanical technicians, and electricians are also in demand.
In 2021, the company used different formats to recruit locals. This includes additional training and retraining of candidates without industry experience in working professions, and corporate training of students from regional educational institutions.
- The company's HR policy is aimed at expanding its workforce, specifically, through engagement of the local population. A new, gas-chemical industry is being created in the region. Within its framework, a project of international scale is being implemented - the construction of the polymer plant. We are interested in attracting professionals and are now inviting specialists from all over Russia. At the same time, training and retraining of the inhabitants of our region, including Ust-Kut district, are carried out - the local population is a priority, - said Elena Vaulina, director of Irkutsk Polymer Plant.
INK attracts and trains specialists post- high school graduation. Since 2018, the company has been operating a special educational programme in Ust-Kut and Kirensk; providing students from 10th and 11th grade the opportunity to take INK classes and study in-depth the subjects required for admission to specialized major programs. A joint project on targeted corporate training of students with subsequent employment is being implemented with Irkutsk National Research Technical University. This programs invites not only universities and colleges of the region, but also from other Russian cities.
Irkutsk Oil Company is building a polymer plant in Ust-Kut as part of a gas chemical cluster that includes facilities for gas production, treatment, transportation, and processing. Toyo Engineering Corporation, a Japanese engineering company, is involved in the construction of the plant and is responsible for engineering, equipment and material supply. The contractors for the construction of the polyethylene and ethylene units are the companies GSI LLC, Volgograd firm NZM (Russia), and Gemont LLC (Turkey). Thanks to the launch of the facility, 1,600 new jobs will be created in Ust-Kut district by 2024.
Investments in the construction of Irkutsk Polymer Plant have already totaled 85 billion rubles. The cost of the plant, including the construction of a modern residential district for 3,000 people - employees of the plant and their families - is estimated at 300 billion rubles. The total volume of investment in the gas chemical cluster of INK will amount to 0.5 trillion rubles.
Irkutsk Oil Company (INK) is one of the largest independent producers of hydrocarbons in Russia. The company was established in 2000 and is engaged in prospecting, exploration and development of 52 license blocks in Irkutsk region, Krasnoyarsk region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). INK's largest investment project is the gas chemical cluster, which INK is implementing in Ust-Kut. It includes gas production, treatment, transportation, and processing facilities, two helium plants, and Irkutsk Polymer Plant. At present, the total number of employees of the group is more than 11 thousand people.
