On November 25th 2014, Irkutsk Oil Company won an auction for the right to explore and develop hydrocarbons on Verhnetirsk and Verhnenepsk’s fields in Irkutsk region.
The acquired resource sites are adjoined to the licensed facilities already being developed by Irkutsk Oil Company. They are located on the territory of Ust-Kut, Katanga, and Nizhneilimsk areas. The licensed areas are within the Nepa-Botuobinskaya oil and gas area, which is part of the Leno-Tungus oil and gas province.
Obtaining the right for the subsoil of Verhnetirsk and Verhnenepsk’s sites is in line with Irkutsk Oil Company’s strategy to continuously grow its resource base, largely through the addition of territories bordering with company's current license fields.
